Actual positions:

  • Assistant Professor Operations Research at Department of Quantitative Economics (School of Business and Economics, Maastricht University, The Netherlands)
  • Guest Professor at Engineering Management Department (University of Antwerp, Belgium)

Research interests

I am mainly interested in applied operations research problems. Typically, this involves the definition of mathematical optimization models and the development of quantitative solution algorithms to support decision making for problems in the field of supply chain management and logistics.

Ongoing projects relate to the following questions:

  • How can warehouse operations be optimized? What are optimal strategies for storing and picking products from warehouses?
  • How can companies seize synergies from working together with others (potentially competitors)? How to share joint gains or costs?
  • How to setup and organize an integrated logistics network (often referred to as a ‘physical internet’), ensuring efficiency and sustainability but also a healthy competition and scalability of the system?
